Port Canaveral Overview
Port Canaveral is located on Florida’s Space Coast, about 45 miles east of Orlando and 20 miles north of Melbourne. If you’re flying in, the closest major airport is Orlando International Airport (MCO), which is about an hour away. Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB) and Melbourne Orlando International Airport (MLB) are also options but have fewer flight choices.
You can get to the port by rental car, shuttle, rideshare or Disney Cruise Line ground transfers. If you’re driving yourself, parking is available directly at the cruise terminal. Rates are around $20 per day, and you’ll pay when you arrive. Some nearby hotels offer park-and-cruise packages that include transportation and longer-term parking.

Port Canaveral Hotel Recommendations

- Country Inn & Suites by Radisson Port Canaveral – Just a few minutes from the terminal, this hotel offers a park-and-cruise package that includes parking for the duration of your cruise and shuttle service to the port. It’s a family-friendly option with complimentary breakfast.
- Hampton Inn Cocoa Beach – Located near the beach and about 10 minutes from the port, this hotel has a park-and-cruise option, free breakfast and cruise shuttle service for an additional fee. The beach location makes it a great spot to relax before or after your cruise.
- Homewood Suites Cape Canaveral – This hotel is one of the closest to the terminal and offers suites with kitchenettes, making it a good choice for larger families. They also have a cruise package that includes parking and port transportation.
Disney Cruise Ships & Itineraries from Port Canaveral
The Disney Cruise Line Fleet
The Disney Cruise Line fleet is made up of eight ships, including the Disney Destiny, which began sailing in November 2025, and the upcoming Disney Adventure, set to launch in March 2026.
At any given time, three to four of these ships sail from Port Canaveral. The Disney Fantasy, Disney Wish, and Disney Treasure are homeported there, offering the majority of sailings. The Disney Magic and Disney Dream rotate in and out, with the Magic also sailing from Galveston, the West Coast, and to Alaska through 2026 and early 2027.
2026 Itineraries
- Disney Fantasy: 4- and 5-night Bahamian and Western Caribbean cruises from Port Canaveral, many visiting both Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay, plus one unique Southern Caribbean cruise in mid-July.
- Disney Wish: Year-round 3- and 4-night Bahamian sailings. Most sailings include stops at Nassau and Castaway Cay, with a few also stopping at Lookout Cay.
- Disney Treasure: Year-round 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean. All itineraries include a stop at Disney Castaway Cay, but do not visit Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.
2027 Itineraries
Disney Cruise Line itineraries are available now through spring 2027. We'll be sure to hop back and update this post with the remaining 2027 sailings once they become available.
- Disney Dream: Late April through May, 3- and 4-night Bahamian cruises to Nassau and Castaway Cay, a couple of sailings swap out Nassau for Lookout Cay.
- Disney Fantasy: 3- to 5-night Bahamian cruises from Port Canaveral, many visiting both Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay, including two that visit Castaway Cay twice and Lookout Key once (a triple dip).
- Disney Wish: Year-round 3- and 4-night Bahamian sailings. Most sailings include stops at Nassau and Castaway Cay, with a few also stopping at Lookout Cay.
- Disney Treasure: Year-round 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean. All itineraries include a stop at Disney Castaway Cay, but do not visit Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.
Themed and Seasonal Sailings
From Port Canaveral, guests can look forward to several themed sailings throughout 2026. Pixar Day at Sea will return on select Disney Fantasy cruises from January through early March. During the fall, most sailings feature Halloween on the High Seas, followed by Very Merrytime Cruises in November and December, bringing festive holiday fun to the seas.

If you have a little extra time before or after your cruise, there’s plenty to explore near Port Canaveral. Just 30 minutes away, the Kennedy Space Center is one of the Space Coast’s top attractions, where families can tour NASA facilities, see real rockets and interactively learn about space exploration.
A short drive in the other direction brings you to Cocoa Beach, known for its wide sandy shoreline, laid-back vibe and the famous Ron Jon Surf Shop.
