EPCOT FastPass+ Attractions and Entertainment Options

by Leap on October 1, 2020
30 Orlando

A note from Leap: As of Oct. 19, 2021, the FastPass+ service at Walt Disney World has been replaced with the Disney Genie+ system. For an additional cost, guests can bypass the standby line and utilize the reimagined Lightning Lanes. Guests will have the option to make individual Lightning Lane selections using the Lightning Lane entrance or can opt for the Disney Genie+ service. With the Disney Genie+ service ($15 per ticket per day at Walt Disney World), guests will be able to choose the next available time to arrive at a variety of attractions and experiences using the Lightning Lane entrance. You can make one selection at a time, throughout the day. Check out our Disney Genie Frequently Asked Questions for more information!

EPCOT FastPass+ Options - PinterestTrying to decide which attractions to use FastPass+ on isn't easy, especially when you can only make advance reservations for three of them. It's even tougher at the Walt Disney World parks that use a tiered FastPass+ system ... and EPCOT is one of them! With only a few major attractions and EPCOT FastPass+ tiers, you need to do a little bit of planning. You'll find the EPCOT FastPass+ recommendations on our EPCOT Park Plan.

At EPCOT (just like Disney's Hollywood Studios), there are two tiers of FastPass+ selections. You may choose one selection from the first tier and two selections from the second tier. You will be given a set of times for each of your selections, which you can modify (to get a better time, for example). It's easy to make, modify or cancel reservations from the My Disney Experience app or any kiosk in any park. While you’re at the park, once you’ve redeemed your three pre-planned FastPass+ selections, you can also make additional selections (one at a time) via the app or park kiosks based on availability throughout the day.

As a reminder, resort guests can book reservations up to 60 days in advance of check-in for their length of stay (up to 10 days) using the My Disney Experience website or app. Non-resort guests can book reservations up to 30 days in advance of each day of their theme park visit.  Reservations start at 7 a.m. Eastern Time. EPCOT FastPass+ tiers and kiosk locations are subject to change at any time.

EPCOT is going through a ton of toadally exciting changes, bringing new attractions and experiences to the park. While construction is underway and we wait (not so patiently) for the likes of Mary Poppins, Ratatouille, Guardians of the Galaxy and the new "HarmonioUS" (billed as the largest nighttime spectacular ever created for a Disney park), here were EPCOT's FastPass+ offerings leading up to the pandemic.

If I am using my 3 Fastpass + at Epcot in the morning, can I book additional Fastpasses for the afternoon at Hollywood Studios while I am still at Epcot? Could I do it on my phone or does it track what park I am in?

Hi Cathe!

Yes, that is correct! You can do it on your phone (at any park) as long as you have already used your first three FastPasses.

Hoppy planning!

Can I only use my tier 1 FP at Epcot without selecting my other 2 FP options. Once used can I get another tier 1 FP?

Hi Keith!

Unfortunately not. You must use all three FastPasses (including the 2 lower level) before selecting another tier 1 experience.

Hi Nereida,

You should make your FastPass+ reservations as soon as possible. If you're going December 30-31, then you can go ahead and reserve them now since you're at less than 30 days out from your trip!

Hi! I bought my tickets for 12/31/17 and have my confirmation #, but I won't be arriving until that day to redeem my tickets. How can I reserve my fastpasses if I don't have my tickets until that day??

Hi Edwin,

As long as you have your confirmation number, you can link the tickets and reserve FastPass+ for your visit. To do this, you'll need to create a My Disney Experience account and then enter the confirmation number to link the tickets.

Hi Rosalie,

We are not familiar with how the guest passes work, but perhaps someone else reading this will chime in.

When you are booking fast passes, do they all have to be for the same park or can you do two for say The Magic Kingdom and one for Epcot? Thank you for your help.

Hi Linda,

Sorry for the delay. Your comment ended up in our spam filter. Your pre-booked passes would all have to be in one park.

Hi,

Keep trying every day. If that doesn't work, we recommend arriving at Epcot before the gates open and immediately making your way to Frozen Ever After once the park opens.

For Epcot we are going to be doing Fastpass for the first time. I am wondering what the wait times are in the Fastpass lines. Assuming a normal wait time is 1 hour, how much shorter is the fastness line?

Hi Tom,

Fastpass+ times depend on the attraction's queue and the attraction's operations—do they load slow or fast? 20 minutes or less seems like a good estimate, but it varies.

Hi, I was wondering if you thought we could get away with not making any FP+ selections for Epcot? Riding Soarin' and Test Track 1st and then not needing them for the other rides. Then we can make 3 for later in the day for another park. Thanks!

Hi Denise,

If you are fine skipping Frozen Ever After, then yes. Use the single rider line for Test Track and do Soarin' Around the World first thing when the park opens.

Hello! We will need to use parent swap on test track and soarin bc we will have a 24 month old with us. Can I fast pass one and my husband fast pass the other and use the parent swap in place of the fast pass for the second parent rider? This would be working around the tier 1 system, so I don't know if it's allowed. Also, do you know of and GM worker perks at test track?

Hi Emily,

Yes, you should be able to do this. We aren't aware of any GM perks, but it's worth asking a cast member when you get there.

Hi Ev,

What I suggest is you keep trying every day and just try to get the desired FastPass+ attraction for one person in your party. Often, it's easier to get one reservation, then you copy that selection to the rest of your party. Disney will attempt to match your party together. Which ride is it?

We are as guests on the resort of Sports at the May month. We get the passes fast for three attractions with our tickets. We get more passes fast for staying at hotel? We do not have the package we buy separate. We get 3 passes fast for admission tickets and 3 passes fast for hotel stay per day?

Hi Griselda,

No, you get three FastPasses per day total. By staying on-site, you get to make reservations sooner, up to 60 days in advance of your check-in.
