At Disney's Hollywood Studios (as well as the other Disney World theme parks), you have three paid options for bypassing the lines: Disney Lightning Lane Multi Pass (formerly Genie+ service), Disney Lightning Lane Single Pass (formerly individual Lightning Lanes) and Disney Lightning Lane Premier Pass. You can now choose your desired rides in advance! The Lightning Lane Multi Pass includes different tiers, similar to the old FASTPASS+ system. Today, we're breaking it down so you'll know all your choices beforehand. Lights, camera, action!

Overview of Lightning Lanes at Hollywood Studios
With the introduction of Disney Lightning Lane passes, you can now pre-book up to three rides or experiences up to three days before your visit through the My Disney Experience app. Guests staying at Walt Disney World Resort hotels have the added benefit of making these selections (for both Multi Pass and Single Pass options) up to seven days in advance for the duration of their stay, up to 14 days. Each day, you can choose up to three Multi Pass selections, with the option to include one Tier 1 ride and two from Tier 2. Another option? Make all three selections from Tier 2 — it's your call! As an example, you could plan for Slinky Dog Dash, Star Tours and The Twilight Tower of Terror, or switch out Slinky Dog for Toy Story Mania. In addition, you can purchase up to two Single Pass rides per day.
Once you’ve scanned in for a Lightning Lane Multi Pass at the park, you can use the app to book another selection from either Tier 1 or 2. You can continue booking one at a time until the park closes. For those with Park Hopper tickets or annual passes, this is when you can select rides or shows in a different park. Each attraction can be accessed through Lightning Lane only once per day. Pricing varies by date. For more info, hop over to our Lightning Lane guide.
Lighting Lane passes are optional, and traditional standby lines are still available for all attractions and experiences. Every so often, Disney may introduce a virtual queue for new attractions to balance high demand (only then would a standby line be unavailable). Currently, there are no virtual queues in use at Hollywood Studios.
Multi Pass Experiences at Disney's Hollywood Studios
With Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you can choose up to three select Multi Pass experiences and your arrival windows days ahead of your visit. You'll also be able to receive digital downloads of select attraction photos and videos from your day, captured with Disney PhotoPass Service, and have access to Disney PhotoPass Lenses.
Choose up to one experience from this Tier 1 group:
- Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway
- Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
- Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets (as of May 26, 2026)
- Slinky Dog Dash
Choose your other two experiences — or all three — from this Tier 2 group:
- Alien Swirling Saucers
- Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage
- Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! (as of May 26, 2026)
- For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration
- Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular
- The Little Mermaid - A Musical Adventure
- Star Tours – The Adventures Continue
- Toy Story Mania!
- The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
Upon purchase, you'll be prompted to choose your three Multi Pass experiences and arrival windows in the same theme park. Once you're in the park and you've enjoyed your first Multi Pass experience, you'll be able to make an additional Multi Pass selection — one at a time from either group — until regular park closing (subject to availability). At that time, if your park admission includes Park Hopper benefits, you can then choose a Multi Pass experience in a different theme park.
Lightning Lane Single Pass Attractions at Hollywood Studios
There is one high-demand attraction that uses Lightning Lane Single Pass (and is not available with Multi Pass). You can purchase up to two single passes per day, subject to availability.

Hollywood Studios Lightning Lane Strategy
While not as many options as Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios is our second favorite park for Lightning Lane use due to the variety of Multi Pass rides and experiences. Just to recap, the tiers only apply to your initial three selections. Based on typical demand, here are our ride recommendations to tackle first. Because there are fewer rides, the popular rides can fill up more quickly.
Multi Pass Tier 1
Slinky Dog Dash has historically always been the most popular Tier 1 option, which would be our top choice to prioritize. That said, as of May 26, 2026, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run (with an update featuring The Mandalorian & Grogu) and the revamped Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets will likely split the Tier 1 demand — at least for summer 2026. Thrill seekers may want to prioritize Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, while we suggest that families with young kids should pick Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway (or Slinky Dog Dash, if they're ready for their first family coaster).
Multi Pass Tier 2
For Tier 2, we'd pick The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Toy Story Mania! for the initial two selections. The remaining options are shows or rides that generally have availability throughout the day (Alien Swirling Saucers and Star Tours).
Single Pass
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is the only Single Pass option at Hollywood Studios. It can sell out days in advance, so snag it as soon as your advance booking window opens. If you are park hopping, you can purchase a second Single Pass at a different park.
Lightning Lane Premier Pass
This pass allows one-time entry to each available Lightning Lane experience without any reservations, so you can enjoy at your leisure. Basically, you can ride the Lightning Lane attractions you want, when you want — and it doesn't matter whether they're normally Single Pass or Multi Pass attractions. It comes at a price, though! It's the most expensive option out of the three Lightning Lane passes.
