At Magic Kingdom (and all of the Disney World theme parks), you can find three paid Lightning Lane passes to expedite the lines: Disney Lightning Lane Multi Pass (formerly Genie+ service), Disney Lightning Lane Single Pass (formerly individual Lightning Lanes) and Disney Lightning Premier Pass. You can make all your Lightning Lane selections in advance, which is where the Multi Pass tiers (similar to its grandma, FASTPASS+) come into play. You'll definitely want to take note of your options ahead of time. Heigh-ho, let's go!

Overview of Lightning Lanes at Magic Kingdom
With Disney Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you can now select up to three rides or experiences to reserve up to three days before your visit. You can do so in the My Disney Experience app. If you're a Walt Disney World Resort hotel guest, you can make your Lightning Lane selections (both Multi Pass and Single Pass) up to seven days ahead of your trip, for the length of your stay (up to 14 days). You can make up to three Multi Pass selections per day, including one from Tier 1 (though you could alternatively make all three selections from Tier 2). That means you could plan for Tiana's Bayou Adventure, Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion ahead of time — or even swap Tiana for Dumbo. You can only buy two Single Pass rides per day.
Then, once you've scanned in for a Lightning Lane Multi Pass in the park, you can book another selection, no matter the tier, in the app. You can continue to book one at a time until park close. If you have a Park Hopper ticket or annual pass, this is also when you can select a ride or attraction in another park. You can only use one Lightning Lane entry per attraction, per day. Hop over to our Lightning Lane guide for more info about how to purchase and use them in the parks.
Lightning Lane Passes are a toadally optional add-on, and traditional standby lines are still available at all attractions and experiences. From time to time, a virtual queue may be used for new attractions, during which a standby line isn't available. Currently, there aren't any virtual queues in use at Magic Kingdom.
Multi Pass Experiences at Magic Kingdom
With Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you can choose up to three select Multi Pass experiences and your arrival windows days ahead of your visit. You'll also be able to receive digital downloads of select attraction photos and videos from your day, captured with Disney PhotoPass Service, and have access to Disney PhotoPass Lenses.
Choose up to one of the following Multi Pass experiences:
- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
- Jungle Cruise
- Peter Pan's Flight
- Space Mountain
- Tiana's Bayou Adventure
Choose your other two experiences — or all three — from this group:
- The Barnstormer
- Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin
- Dumbo the Flying Elephant
- Haunted Mansion
- "it's a small world"
- Mad Tea Party
- The Magic Carpets of Aladdin
- The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
- Mickey's PhilharMagic
- Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor
- Pirates of the Caribbean
- Tomorrowland Speedway
- Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid
Upon purchase, you'll be prompted to choose your three Multi Pass experiences and arrival windows in the same theme park. Once you're in the park and you've enjoyed your first Multi Pass experience, you'll be able to make an additional Multi Pass selection — one at a time from either group — until regular park closing (subject to availability). At that time, if your park admission includes Park Hopper benefits, you can then choose a Multi Pass experience in a different theme park.
Single Pass Attractions at Magic Kingdom
The following attractions are not included in Multi Pass, and are instead available à la carte. You can purchase up to two single passes per day, subject to availability.
Lightning Lane Single Pass Attractions (for individual purchase):
Magic Kingdom Lightning Lane Strategy
First of all, Magic Kingdom is our top pick for the best Disney World theme park to use Lightning Lane in. Because Multi Pass includes the most attraction options, you can really maximize Lightning Lane at Magic Kingdom. As a reminder, the tiers only apply to your first three advance selections. Based on typical demand (aka which rides tend to run out of availability first), here's what we would select as our advance Lightning Lane reservations!
Multi Pass Tier 1
With five options to choose from, we recommend prioritizing either Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (which recently reopened after a major refurbishment) or Tiana's Bayou Adventure, if you enjoy the thrills! For families with younger kids, Peter Pan's Flight will be your best option, followed by Jungle Cruise.
Multi Pass Tier 2
Overall, there are 13 Tier 2 experiences, but not all are created equal. Some of these rides and shows usually don't have long waits all day long, so it's best to save them for later in the day. Prioritize two of the following: Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin (another ride that has brand-new updates, as of spring 2026), Haunted Mansion, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh or Pirates of the Caribbean — depending on you and your group's interests.
Single Pass
Magic Kingdom is the only park with two Single Pass attractions — Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and TRON Lightcycle / Run. Since you can select up to two Single Pass rides per day, you can opt to purchase both! If you're park hopping and want your second Single Pass in a different park, then we would recommend whichever coaster suits your preference. TRON Lightcycle / Run is more thrilling than Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (which is more family friendly), but both can sell out days in advance. So whichever one you choose, be sure to purchase as soon as your advance booking window opens!
Lightning Lane Premier Pass
This pass allows one-time entry to each available Lightning Lane experience without any reservations, so you can enjoy at your leisure. Basically, you can ride the Lightning Lane attractions you want, when you want — and it doesn't matter whether they're normally Single Pass or Multi Pass attractions. It comes at a price, though! It's the most expensive option out of the three Lightning Lane passes.
