Changes to Disney Genie+ service at Walt Disney World Resort are coming July 24, 2024! At Magic Kingdom (and all of the Disney World theme parks), you'll find two paid ways to expedite the lines: Disney Lightning Lane Multi Pass (formerly known as Genie+ service) and Disney Lightning Lane Single Pass (formerly known as individual Lightning Lanes). With this switch, you'll also be able to select which rides you want to ride in advance! The Lightning Lane Multi Pass does have tiers, similar to its grandma, FASTPASS+ — so you'll want to take note of your options ahead of time. Heigh-ho, let's go!

Overview of Lightning Lanes at Magic Kingdom

With the new Disney Lightning Lane passes, you can now select up to three rides or experiences to reserve up to three days before your visit. You can do so in the My Disney Experience app. If you're a Walt Disney World Resort hotel guest, you can make your Lightning Lane selections (both Multi Pass and Single Pass) up to seven days ahead of your trip, for the length of your stay (up to 14 days). You can make up to three Multi Pass selections per day, including one from Tier 1 (though you could alternatively make all three selections from Tier 2). That means you could plan for Tiana's Bayou Adventure, Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion ahead of time — or even swap Tiana for Buzz Lightyear. You can only buy two Single Pass rides per day.

Then, once you've scanned in for a Lightning Lane Multi Pass in the park, you can book another selection in the app. You can continue to book one at a time until park close. If you have a park hopper ticket or annual pass, this is also when you can select a ride or show in another park. You can only use one Lightning Lane entry per attraction, per day.

Been riding Tiana’s in the virtual queue a few times, and notice people using what would be the LL Single pass line, but there’s no single pass available in the app. Is is the DAS line?

Hi Matt!

Tiana's Bayou Adventure is available via the Lightning Lane Multi Pass. Those who have purchased Multi Pass and reserved a time window for Tiana's, as well as DAS users, are the ones using the Lightning Lane.

Keep hopping!
