Enter Star Command Headquarters in Tomorrowland® Area, where you’ll make your way through a path of neon colors and meet Buzz Lightyear, who gives you important instructions and details on your mission. Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin® Attraction is all about mixing fun and competition, Disney-styled!
You’ll become an official junior space ranger and control your very own XP-37 Star Cruiser to stop the Evil Emperor Zurg from stealing the batteries of the Little Green Men’s space vehicles. Your Star Cruiser will take flight and guide you through the galaxies until you accomplish your task. Once on flight, you’ll spend the duration of the attraction battling gigantic robots in a world of black light and 10 different scenes. Aiming your personal laser cannon at the targeted subjects, you’ll rack up some points while doing so! Be sure to watch out for enemies lurking in the shadows or craters; there are several species of aliens you’ll need to defeat to earn a high score on Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin® Attraction.
Your Star Cruiser will take the Emergency Escape Hatch when Evil Emperor Zurg is closing in on you, and finish the battle in a high-speed space attack, flying through the cosmos. Use this opportunity to earn as many points as you can! After the well-fought battle, you’ll find Evil Emperor Zurg defeated and Buzz Lightyear greeting you at the end. Check your score at the Status Board and see how you rank as a Space Ranger!
The best time to experience Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin® Attraction is within the first two hours after the park opens or the last two hours before the park closes. Plan on doing Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin® Attraction more than once. Our 1-Day and 2-Day Touring Plans can help you plan when to visit the attraction. It’s even more fun the third and fourth time when you notice your score improving!
Maybe it's the friendly competition or maybe it's just Buzz Lightyear, but the Frog Family loves, loves, loves Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin® Attraction. The neon "black" lighting makes this attraction a visual treat, even if you're not into video game style rides. We usually save it for the hour before the park closes and go on it as many times as we can. To earn some really high points, be sure to aim your laser cannon at the high targets that are far away and moving targets. Once you get good at this game, you’ll be able to focus more on the difficult targets, like the small batteries in the battery room and the top of the volcano! Use your joystick to make the vehicle spin. Watch for "Z's" while scouring the universe for targets.
Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin® Attraction is located at the central hub of Tomorrowland® Area, just southeast of Astro Orbiter’s towering rocket ship. The duration of the attraction is about 4 ½ minutes. Each car is equipped with two laser-cannons and a score-keeping display. A central joystick allows you to spin your car to line up the targets. The ride vehicles don’t come to a complete stop for boarding, but slow down enough to make loading very easy. Guests must transfer from their motorized scooter or ECV to an available wheelchair to experience the attraction. Children under the age of 7 years must be accompanied by a person age 14 years or older.
