New Entertainment Aboard the Disney Destiny Cruise Ship

When it comes to entertainment, the Disney Destiny goes big — like Hercules-sized big! From Broadway-style storytelling to Marvel hero encounters and high-energy deck parties, every performance and show brings Disney’s heroes and villains to life in thrilling new ways.

1. "Disney Hercules" at the Walt Disney Theatre

Disney Destiny Cruise Ship - Hercules stage show

The brand-new "Disney Hercules" stage show on the Disney Destiny cruise ship is an absolute blast. This contemporary retelling follows the story we all know — Hercules going from zero to hero and his unfrogettable love story with Meg.

The Muses are incredible, delivering gospel-infused songs and modern dance moves that carry you through every scene. The Hydra puppet steals the show, and with stunning costumes, moving sets and sheer cast talent, you'll be singing along and dancing in your seat. From “I can go the distance” to the final cast bow, the audience was on their feet for the longest encore we've ever seen — it’s just that good. Grab a middle-theatre seat and arrive early; you won’t want to miss a single heroic moment.

2. Heroic Spaces and Experiences

Avengers, Assemble! If you dream of letting your inner Marvel hero (or villain) out to play, the Disney Destiny cruise ship is for you. With her Wakandan-inspired Grand Hall, Spider-Man stern character, Worlds of Marvel restaurant and nods to Iron Man and other favorites throughout the ship, she's brimming with Marvel action and adventure. Creative spaces, restaurants, character appearances and spontaneous surprises make exploring the ship feel like your own mini Marvel adventure.

And if you really want to live out your Tony Stark dreams, check out the Destiny Tower Suite with its sleek, armor-inspired designs and luxe details. Interactive missions, tech-driven displays and spontaneous hero appearances make exploring the ship feel like your very own Marvel adventure.

3. Meet Zayah and Gamble

Zayah and Gamble are the mischievous duo you didn’t know you needed. A pair of traveling storytellers, Zayah carries an ancient book of fates while Gamble’s trunk reveals magical potions and interactive surprises. Join in the antics as you participate in riddles, mini challenges and pop-up adventures that change depending on where they appear.

The duo appears in the Grand Hall, lounges and other public areas, and every encounter is different. Keep an eye on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app — these two pop up when you least expect them, and that’s half the fun.

4. AquaMouse: Sing a Silly Song

Hold on tight! The AquaMouse coaster on the Disney Wish and Disney Treasure has a new storyline on the Disney Destiny — a Villain Mountain adventure, called Sing a Silly Song! Join Mickey and Minnie as you race through tunnels, twists and drops while confronting some of Disney’s baddies in hilarious ways.

Sprays, lighting effects and pop-up animations keep the ride unpredictable and fun for the whole family. Lines can get long, so hit it early in the morning or on a port day if you want a shorter wait. It’s a ride you’ll want to hop on more than once!

5. Disney Destiny Sail Away Party with Spider-Man

The Sail Away Party on the Disney Destiny is where your vacation really begins — similar to other Disney Cruise Line sail-away parties, but with a heroic plot twist. One minute you’re dancing along to the “Cupid Shuffle,” and the next, a sudden disturbance tries to crash the fun … until Spider-Man swings in to save the day.

Zayah and Gamble then take over the stage to launch you into the adventures ahead. For the best view, get there early and grab a spot near the deck stage, or head up to the upper decks for a bird’s-eye view of all the action.

6. Disney Villain Experiences

Love a little mischief? The Disney Destiny cruise ship is loaded with villain-themed encounters. Meet Maleficent for magical demonstrations, take part in Cruella’s Runway fashion show or be recruited by Loki for some playful chaos. Even Dr. Facilier meets in a secret parlor and performs sleight-of-hand tricks.

These experiences pop up throughout the day and in several places across the ship, so keep watch and jump in when the fun comes hopping your way.

Heroic New Dining on the Disney Destiny Cruise Ship

Dining on the Disney Destiny cruise ship is part of the adventure, and it’s just as exciting as the shows. From Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King restaurant to sweets from Edna’s lab and quick bites at Café Megara or Café Merida, each tells its own story. Menus, décor and even interactive details make you feel like you’ve stepped into the movies.

7. Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King

Step into the Pride Lands for an unforgettable dining experience. Storytellers and live performers bring the Pride Lands to life while you enjoy African–inspired dishes. Onstage, you’ll experience live percussion, vocal performances and dancing to favorite songs from "The Lion King" films, including “Hakuna Matata” and “Can You Feel the Love Tonight.”

Throughout the restaurant, you’ll find details such as character-inspired table décor and art pieces featuring scenes and icons from the film. Look closely, the glowing windows along the sides and back of the dining room make it feel like the African savanna is just outside, with silhouettes of elephants and giraffes roaming by.

8. Edna À La Mode Sweets

Craving something sweet and a little super-powered? Edna À La Mode Sweets is the first Incredibles-themed sweet shop at sea, and it’s fabulous, darling!

Edna’s lab has been converted into a sweet-making workshop where Jack-Jack’s antics come to life alongside gelato, cupcakes, candy and more. You can even snap a pic with a sculpture of Edna and Jack-Jack hard at work on their cookie creations. Don’t miss the Jack-Jack Cookie Num Nums — they’re a must-try!

9. Café Megara and Café Merida

Two new walk-up cafes near the Grand Hall bring Pixar and Disney heroes to your morning or snack time. Café Megara draws inspiration from "Hercules," with color palettes and fabrics that transport you to Mount Olympus.

Café Merida celebrates Scottish flair with nods to "Brave," offering foamy lattes, teas, fresh juices and light bites.

New Adult Experiences on the Disney Destiny

Grown-ups get to join in the fun too, with lounges and experiences designed just for them. The Disney Destiny cruise ship features adults-only spaces where you can sip cocktails, enjoy live music and soak in immersive storytelling. From The Sanctum lounge to De Vil’s piano bar and the pirate-themed Cask & Cannon, each venue offers a unique vibe for relaxing after a day of family adventures. Make sure to check show times and happy hour specials to maximize the experience.

10. De Vil's

De Vil’s piano lounge is your chance to embrace a little villainous fun in a stylish, adults-only space. Cruella’s signature red, black and white color palette sets the scene, while a spotted piano and live performances. Sip perfectly wretched cocktails, enjoy the theatrical flair and watch the fiber-optic Cruella appear and disappear for extra drama.

Keep a lookout for "Treble Making with Cruella," where you can help Cruella rewrite her infamous theme song to be a bit more ... well, flattering, darling!

The lounge connects to the Grand Hall, giving you prime people-watching and a peek at the hub of ship life.

11. The Sanctum

Step into a world of magic at The Sanctum, a lounge inspired by Doctor Strange. This adults-only lounge uses ambient effects, dimensional décor and immersive lighting to make every drink feel enchanted. Signature cocktails, including the Eye of Agamotto, pair perfectly with the ambience.

The Sanctum is located just behind the Grand Hall and is a bustling lounge in the center of it all, where you can catch The Mystics, a live cover band, or participate in Disney trivia, crafts and more.

12. Cask & Cannon

The pirate-themed Cask & Cannon pub is a new adults-only lounge for anyone who loves “Pirates of the Caribbean.” Step inside and you’ll feel like you’re aboard a swashbuckling tavern with barrels, mismatched furniture, treasure chests, maps and all kinds of hidden details for fans to spot.

The ceiling even has a Caribbean Sea treasure map, complete with seven ships to represent the Disney fleet, including the Destiny. Grab a rum cocktail, scan the room for Easter eggs and let the pirate vibes take over.

13. The Haunted Mansion Palor

This cadaverous pallor betrays an aura of foreboding, almost as though you sense a disquieting metamorphosis ... The Haunted Mansion Parlor is a standout on the Disney Destiny. While it first debuted on the Disney Treasure, the Destiny version comes with an all-new drink menu, giving even returning fans something completely different to enjoy.

Inside, the lounge is filled with clever nods to the classic attraction and just enough spooky charm. Similar to the other lounges on the ship, minus De Vil's, The Haunted Mansion Parlor is open to all guests until 9:30 p.m., then becomes adults-only for the rest of the evening.

So start packing those capes (and swimsuits), because you’ll want to be first in line for all the heroic — and villainous — action. Until then, stay tuned for more updates from your pals at Undercover Tourist … we’re hopping with excitement to bring you even more Disney Cruise Line magic!

Would you send me an itinerary for the Disney destiny cruise April 2-6 to Bahamas? Do you need to make reservations for special events and dinners before the trip?

Hi Barbara!

Here is some information on that specific cruise. The itinerary is as follows: Day 1 at Port Everglades, Day 2 at Disney Lookout Cay, Day 3 at Castaway Cay, Day 4 at Sea and Day 5 at Port Everglades.

You won't be able to see the full activities schedule in the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app until you're at the port and on the ship. Some activities, including Port Adventures, and dining experiences have reservations — but not all. For dining specifically, you do not need reservations for the main rotational dining, but if you want a special dinner at Palo Steakhouse or Enchante, those are the only two that take reservations. It is strongly recommended that you make reservations at the start of your booking window (based on Castaway Club member status), but you can also always try to book experiences (or get onto waitlists) once you're on the ship. We recently wrote up a post about Disney Cruise Line reservations that you can check out here.

Keep hopping!
