Crowds at Walt Disney World in June

Because some kids still have school through the first couple of weeks of summer, those days are a little less crowded than the second half of the month, which is likely to see full summer crowds.

During June, we recommend taking advantage of Early Theme Park Entry, if you're staying a Disney Resort hotel, which gives you an extra 30 minutes in any park before it officially opens to off-site guests. Getting to the park before opening (aka rope dropping) is always a good idea, but it's even more crucial when crowd levels (and summer temps) are high. Additionally, if you're a guest at a Disney Deluxe Resort, Deluxe Villa or other select resorts, you can take advantage of Extended Evening Hours on select nights at select theme parks — another great option to avoid crowds and the summer sun.

Early Entry - Signage at EPCOT

We also recommend you check our Crowd Calendar when you begin planning your trip to find the best travel dates and then revisit it as you get closer to your actual trip to pick the recommended park by day. If you're a first-time visitor, our Jump Start Guide will help with all your planning research, from popular rides and Lightning Lane to dining.

Cheapest Days and Ticket Deals in June

You'll find the best ticket deals and cheapest days to visit during the first two weeks of June, as some kids may not officially be out of school yet. Here's the current cheapest days to visit Disney World in June 2026:

Weather at Disney World in June

June marks the official start of the summer season — and in Florida, that means you should expect it to be hot. The average temperature ranges between the upper 80s (usually around 88°F) and the low 90s. Expect lots of humidity, too. Check out our tips and tricks for staying cool at Disney World.

Nights are typically cooler, with an average temperature in the mid-70s Fahrenheit. Keep in mind that June also begins Florida’s rainy season. Expect daily showers (or thunderstorms) anywhere between 2 and 5 p.m. (This is a general estimate, not a rule of thumb; sometimes it rains earlier or later, but usually not all day.) Don't fret, though! While your day at the parks may be (temporarily) interrupted by the rain, these showers don't typically last long. They tend to move out just as quickly as they roll in. We use this time to see our favorite indoor shows, such as Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room at Magic Kingdom or For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration at Hollywood Studios.

If you're visiting Walt Disney World in June, prepare for the heat. That means bringing sunscreen, hats, visors, sunglasses, cooling towels and misting fans. Also, stay hydrated. You can even bring in your own reusable water bottle as long as it's not glass. Find more tips on staying hydrated in the Florida heat!

Hi Suzanne,

You can still have a great visit despite the crowds. We have visited in June and July before, and it is quite manageable if you arrive at the parks ahead of opening, use FastPass+ and our app, and take a break in the afternoon when crowds reach their peak.

Hoppy planning!

Hi,

This will be my third time traveling to Disney World this June. I went this past year in mid August and it rained all day, 4 out of 5 days. I am going the first week in June this year. How can I expect the weather to be? You mentioned rain showers, are they all day long or just passing? Is it typical for it to rain everyday?

Thank you in advance.

Hi Candice,

Typically, these are afternoon showers that pass through fairly quickly, but keep in mind that historically June sees slightly more rain than August.

Hoppy planning!

I noticed that Thursdays in Epcot seem to be the least crowded for June. Is there a reason for this? We planned to go on Friday June 26th but are considering changing it to Thursday based on your calendar.

Hi Elizabeth,

The daily park recommendations are based on a variety of factors, including historical data we've collected over the years, time of year, EMH, special events etc. I would definitely recommend avoiding Epcot on June 26 because of EMH unless you are staying on-site and plan to actually attend the EMH.

Planning on taking my grand daughter aged 3 to Disney between June 5-8th 2015. Won't be doing much on the 5th as flying in from UK. Advice on best parks for a 3 year old and her 68 years young Grandma. Are we also able to buy a one day ticket? Thanks

Hi Jean,

What fun for you and your granddaughter! You certainly can buy a one-day ticket, and if you have one day, you most definitely should visit Magic Kingdom!

Hi Sonia,

For your age group, I'd suggest all of the mountains for sure — Space Mountain, Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. I'd also recommend the newest attraction, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. You can find more resources in our Orlando Planning Guide.

We are planning a trip for the summer 2015. We are going with another family( 4 kids total...8,7,5,3). We have never been to any of the Parks before. We want to pick the park that would have the most stuff for the kids to do, we assume that would be Magic Kingdom is that correct? We are only going one day. Is there a certain day of the week that is less crowded? I know it is the summer so it is going to be crowded but is one day of the week any better then the others? Also, any tips on how to save money on ticket prices? We will have 4 adults and 4 kids.

Thanks so much.

Hi Catherine,

Magic Kingdom is definitely the park to visit if you've only got one day, particularly with the age groups of your kids. You can follow our Crowd Calendar to see specific recommendation by day, but generally Wednesday and Thursday are preferred at Magic Kingdom during the summer months.

We are visiting in June this year from 6/9-6/13. We know this is a crowded time to visit and are concerned about not be able to have fun and getting stressed. There are 4 in our party, the two kids are 11 & 14. Any good advice to helping us have a great time would be greatly appreciated.

FYI - We are staying offsite. We plan on going to Universal and Magic Kingdom.

Hi Jimmy,

I think it helps to go in with the understanding that it is going to be crowded, but that doesn't mean you won't have fun! We've routinely made the trip during summertime ourselves and know from experience that if you pick the recommended park for that day and get to said park at opening, you'll still be able to tour with fewer crowds.

Best,

Hi Paulina,

There aren't any regularly scheduled special events during this time, but plenty of fun regular shows and entertainment such as the parades and fireworks.

Hi Adriana,

Sunday is marked as a busier day on our crowd calendar in general, but Universal and Islands of Adventure are both marked as recommended parks.

That said, the summer concert series draws a big crowd to Universal, but if you're not interested in the band it's an excellent time to visit Islands of Adventure, which should see fewer crowds.

You could spend the day at Universal and move over to Islands of Adventure in the evening that Saturday.

Best,
