The Wildlife Express Train is the only way to get to Rafiki’s Planet Watch. Conversely, it’s the only way to return to the main part of the park from Rafiki’s Planet Watch. Guests will get a behind-the-scenes look at several of the animal housing and care areas as well as the savanna where rhinos, elephants and other animals spend the night.
Board the train at the Harambe, Africa train station for a 7-minute ride to Rafiki’s Planet Watch. When you’re ready to leave Rafiki’s Planet Watch, get back on the train for a 5-minute trip back to the Harambe, Africa train station. The round-trip journey is 1.2 miles. There are two rows of seats in each train car; both rows face forward. Guests may remain in their wheelchair, motorized scooter or ECV to board the train.

The three engines and two sets of cars belonging to the Wildlife Express line were built in 1997 only a few miles from William Shakespeare's cottage in Stratford-on-Avon by the model-railroad firm of Severn Lamb, Ltd., at Alchester, England. Because of Walt Disney's love of trains since childhood, there are railroads at every Disney Resort around the world!
