That's why we're here to answer your most frequently asked questions about Epic Universe Orlando — so you can conquer the park's five mind-blowing worlds like a toadal pro!

Universal Epic Universe Orlando FAQs

What is Epic Universe?

Epic Universe is a brand-new theme park at Universal Orlando Resort. It features five wondrous worlds: How to Train Your Dragon - Isle of Berk, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Ministry of Magic, Super Nintendo World, Dark Universe and, the world between worlds, Celestial Park. With amazing attractions for frogs of all ages, spectacular shows, jaw-dropping views, mouthwatering food and drinks and epic entertainment everywhere you turn, this park is truly something special. A phenomenal addition to Universal Orlando, Epic Universe has officially made the resort a weeklong vacation destination that you won't want to leave.

Is Epic Universe its own park?

Epic Universe is its own theme park. That means it's not attached to Universal Islands of Adventure, Universal Studios Florida or Universal Volcano Bay. You need separate park admission to enter (when looking at ticket options, make sure to purchase tickets that include "PLUS 1-Day Universal Epic Universe Ticket").

How big is Epic Universe?

Epic Universe — along with Universal Stella Nova Resort, Universal Terra Luna Resort and Universal Helios Grand Hotel — is built on 750 acres of land, just a few miles from Universal's existing theme parks ... almost doubling the size of the resort! The park's five worlds are home to 11 different rides, two interactive play areas, two stage shows and tons of dining and shopping locations.

Where is Epic Universe located?

The official address of Epic Universe is 1001 Epic Blvd, Orlando, FL 32819. It's located southeast of the existing Universal Orlando theme parks and Universal CityWalk, a short drive down the road.

How far is Epic Universe from Universal Studios?

Epic Universe is about 13 minutes from Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure. To get from one to the other, you can either drive and park or catch a complimentary shuttle bus from Universal CityWalk. Park-to-park tickets that include Epic Universe are not currently on sale, so you can't visit multiple parks in one day. (And with how much there is to see and do at Epic Universe, you won't feel like you need to!)

When is Epic Universe opening?

Universal Epic Universe opens May 22, 2025. Early Park Admission will not be available on opening day, but will be available beginning May 23, 2025. Park hours for opening day haven't been released yet.

Did Epic Universe open?

You may be wondering how frogs have already experienced the park if the official opening day hasn't arrived yet. Well, here's what's been hoppening:

On March 1, 2025, Universal Team Member Previews began. On March 17, 2025, Universal Team Members could begin bringing their families along to preview the park. Then, on April 5, 2025, Universal held a Media Preview event — during which we were fortunate enough to be able to attend! At this time, footage from the parks was allowed (prior to the Media Preview, no photos or videos were allowed).

From April 17 to May 19, 2025, Universal is holding a Preview/Soft open period. Universal Orlando Passholders, Universal hotel guests, activated 2025 Military Freedom ticket holders and Universal Rewards Visa Signature Cardmembers are able to purchase tickets for this Preview period. Epic Universe will be closed to the general public on May 20-21 as Universal prepares for the park's Grand Opening on May 22.

When will tickets for Epic Universe go on sale?

Epic Universe tickets are on sale now! When you score multi-day tickets to Universal Orlando Resort that include one day at Epic Universe, you can save up to $124 per ticket by purchasing through Undercover Tourist. Epic Universe 1-day tickets are also now available (with a start date of June 1, 2025) directly through Universal.

Does Epic Universe offer Express Pass?

Epic Universe will offer Express Pass. You can purchase a 1-day Express Pass for Epic Universe only (available directly through Universal) or a 2-, 3-, 4-, or 5-day Express Pass that includes Epic Universe, Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure (available through Undercover Tourist). Currently, the Express Unlimited Pass is not available. Check out our helpful infographic to see which attractions offer Express and which don't.

How long did it take to build Epic Universe?

Construction on Epic Universe began in August 2019 — however, it did pause in July 2020. Construction resumed in March 2021 and Epic Universe welcomed its first guests (i.e. Universal team members) in March 2025. The park is still in technical rehearsals until it officially opens in May 2025 — just less than six years since construction commenced!

Hi Nikki!

Parking rates are the same as CityWalk ($32 for general parking; $50-60 for prime parking) and passholder benefits apply. Typically, parking opens about two hours before the park officially opens. Parking trams are not available at this time.
