Frog Overview
DINOSAUR is a thrilling adventure ride aboard a CTX Time Rover that transports guests back to the age of dinosaurs with the goal of returning to the present day with a 3.5-ton Iguanodon in tow. Enter the Dino Institute that houses the DINOSAUR attraction and walk through the impressive queue area that features informative fossil exhibits including life-size dinosaur skeletons. From there, you’ll enter the pre-show segment of the attraction.
The film begins with Dr. Marsh (Felicia Rashad) explaining the creation of the time rover and the study of dinosaurs. The film is interrupted by Dr. Grant Seeker who sets up the action to follow. He asks you to bring back the last Iguanodon before deadly meteors crash to the Earth. Following the pre-show, you’ll proceed to the boarding area. It feels like you are walking through an underground security bunker.
Board your CTX Time Rover and let the fun begin. The actual ride takes you through dark prehistoric forests with dinosaurs of all kinds emerging out of nowhere. With the clock ticking down, will you emerge with the friendly Iguanodon or some other carnivorous beast?
DINOSAUR is located in Dinoland U.S.A.® Land at Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park. The pre-show of the DINOSAUR attraction is about 3 minutes. The actual ride lasts 3 ½ minutes. The ride vehicles seat 12 guests (4 per row) and have a lap bar restraint. Guests must transfer from their wheelchair, motorized scooter or ECV to board the ride vehicle. Due to the nature of this attraction, service animals are not allowed.

Frog Family Tips and Fun Facts about DINOSAUR
Frog Family Tips
- Hold off on this one if you're not sure how your little one will react! It's very bumpy and rough, and has loud roars and realistic replicas of the dinosaurs. Plus there are sections in complete darkness.
- Take young tadpoles to the nearby Boneyard if you have party members who'd like to experience DINOSAUR.
- Go early in the morning within the first two hours of park opening. Although DINOSAUR is a headlining attraction at Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park, it doesn’t get as busy as Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain® and Kilimanjaro Safaris® Expedition.
Fun Facts
- The DINOSAUR attraction is inside The Dino Institute in Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park where there is evidence from scientists and students who have tried to unravel the biggest mystery in the history of our planet: what happened to the dinosaurs?
- DINOSAUR was originally named Countdown to Extinction and actually debuted on April 22, 1998, prior to the animated film.
- The Carnataurus was the Imagineers' scarier version of real-life Carnosauria; Imagineers made the "Meat Bull" taller, more muscular and with bumpier skin to appear more frightening!
