DINOSAUR is a thrilling adventure ride aboard a CTX Time Rover that transports guests back to the age of dinosaurs with the goal of returning to the present day with a 3.5-ton Iguanodon in tow.
Enter the Dino Institute that houses the DINOSAUR attraction and walk through the impressive queue area that features informative fossil exhibits including life-size dinosaur skeletons. From there, you’ll enter the pre-show segment of the attraction. The film begins with Dr. Marsh (Felicia Rashad) explaining the creation of the time rover and the study of dinosaurs. The film is interrupted by Dr. Grant Seeker who sets up the action to follow. He asks you to bring back the last Iguanodon before deadly meteors crash to the Earth.
Following the pre-show, you’ll proceed to the boarding area. It feels like you are walking through an underground security bunker. Board your CTX Time Rover and let the fun begin.
The actual ride takes you through dark prehistoric forests with dinosaurs of all kinds emerging out of nowhere. With the clock ticking down, will you emerge with the friendly Iguanodon or some other carnivorous beast?
Although DINOSAUR is a headlining attraction at Animal Kingdom, it doesn’t get as busy as Expedition Everest and Kilimanjaro Safaris.
There are sections of this ride that are in complete darkness. Coupled with the loud roars and realistic replicas of the dinosaurs, DINOSAUR can be VERY frightening for young children. It is also very bumpy and not recommended for anyone with back problems.
DINOSAUR is dark, loud and bumpy, so if you're not sure how your little one will react, hold off on this one. Lily was terrified the first few times she went and it still shakes her up a bit. Leap and Tad LOVE it though, so if Lily isn’t in the mood she and Mommy Frog go next door to the Boneyard play area while the boys ride.
DINOSAUR is located in DinoLand U.S.A. at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The pre-show of the DINOSAUR attraction is about 3 minutes. The actual ride lasts 3 ½ minutes.
The ride vehicles seat 12 guests (4 per row) and have a lap bar restraint. Guests must transfer from their wheelchair, motorized scooter or ECV to board the ride vehicle.

The nearby Boneyard is a great place for children who do not meet the DINOSAUR height requirement to play (accompanied by an adult). DINOSAUR was developed at the same time as the movie and actually debuted prior to the animated film.
The DINOSAUR attraction is inside The Dino Institute in Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park where there is evidence from scientists and students who have tried to unravel the biggest mystery in the history of our planet: what happened to the dinosaurs?
